Who Am I?
Am I the shy girl, behind her mother?
Holding tightly and hiding my face
Or now the girl who talks to anyone
no matter age, shape or race?
Am I the "nigger kid", something I've overheard before?
Challenged with a color hard to understand
Or that "exotic" looking woman
Glowing yearly with a tan?
Am I big boned or chubby, during my childhood years?
A diet taught to me, although it wasn't too late
Obsessed with health, yet not worried about the pounds
Am I now too thin, accused of being restrictive and underweight?
Am I over emotional, is the sickness "in my head"?
22 with endometriosis, an invisible disease
Intimacy, eating, fertility and standing, the new challenges I face
Despite my begging for god's help, will a smile will put others at ease?
Am I trapped inside a body?
One I've wished to trade
Or am I trapped inside spirit?
Recognizing my strength with a slight delay.
There are to sides to each story, for both you and I
Open your eyes to disgused blessings in life
Ask your self "Who am I?"
The answer the result of your own beautiful strife
